Crowley Museum & Nature Center
| Just a few miles east of Oak Ford is the crowley Museum and Nature Center which is 190 acres of native land adjacent to the Myakka River. The Center is a wildlife sanctuary and education center where visitors can observe and learn about the fauna and flora of natural Florida. The Center is open weekdays for school programs and group tours by appointment. Thursday through Sunday individuals are welcome to visit from 10-4 for a self guided tour. January 1- April 30 the center is open Tuesday-Sunday. (hours subject to change call for confirmation). Admission is $5 for adults, 5-12 years $3, and under 5 years and members are free. Florida West Coast Symphony
| Established in 1949 and now presenting a 37-week season, the Florida West Coast Symphony is the oldest continuing orchestra in the state of Florida. The orchestra has twice been ranked first among all major Florida musical organizations by the Florida Arts Council’s Cultural Institutions program.
